Click on "upload pictures," and it'll walk you through the rest.

Linking to other sites hosting your images is the way to go.
Do like this;
(img)http://blahblahblah.com/joeqpublicgallery/picture.jpg(/img)
Just Replace the parentheses with square brackets like [exampletag] URL[/exampletag]
and you are good to go.
