As promised, here are pics of my new Mali Uromastyx and his enclosure. Don't ask me about a name yet, i'm terrible at that kind of stuff.

Here's the cage from the outside

Inside of cage. That's it for now.

That is a nice healthy looking mali. That's why I hate going around to all the reptile shops here, they never have any good looking uros. The one time I saw a group of uros hear that weren't underweight, dried out, or in very poor house, was when I saw these great looking ornates at this one reptile shop. They were little guys with pudgy bellies, and they didn't appear to have a single defect on them. I have my uro for now, my old, fat, stubborn mali. She's a rescue though so she's been through a lot, so I don't hold it against her.
As for the setup, it looks prett good. Watt wattage are the halogens, and how hot do they get the basking site? you can raise the basking temp without raising cage temp if you make a retes stack, and uros love them because of all of the hiding places they make. You could also put a little rubbermaid bin (with non see through sides) full of moistened soil with a 3-4" ribbed flexi hose coming out the side. This isn't really a good substitute for a full burrowing setup, but I've noticed that many (like myself) have great trouble in creating a full burrowing setup, and usually aren't ready for the extra factors that are created (putting just the right amount of water in the soil, getting the right soil). A box with soil in it will just suit their needs for an area of heightened humidity.
congrats. a real cutie!
