hey everyone im new here in normaly on the reptile one, im in 10 grade bio and i have been asking for since the first day of school when we get to do the frog lab where we get frogs(live)and study them for like 2 hrs, and today the came into school and if we want on friday we can take some home if we want im looking to take some home just some questions about them

my teacher said they were leopard frogs,
how many can i get in a 30 brreder like how many would be good like 2-5 or like 1?
do they need heat lamps or just a water heater
what im gunna do is take a big water dish and fill it and have a water heater in it so the frogs can go in and out so they aint in 100%water
do they eat crickets bc i get like 1000-2500 ever 2 weeks and other foods,
what is the best substrate for them

thanks for you help just wana get my cage going so when they come home

Where abouts are you located? Chances are room temperature is perfect for your frogs. I wouldn't overcrowd your enclosure, but 1-2 frogs should do fine. The more frogs you have in a small environment the more you will struggle to keep things clean, monitor health, eating/defecating and the such. A setup that I like for these guys is a rock substrate (medium to large round gravel) with 1-2 inches of water. Land area can be accomplished with creative usage of wood, larger rocks, and piling the gravel. A potted plant works well to provide security while still being able to view the frogs. If additional heat is necessary a 40-75W bulb should do fine depending on the exact placement.
