Getting a burm this summer....

CHEeeEZZZ Mar 11, 2005 10:25 PM

and I want to build all if its enclosures at the same time. So I was wondering how many cages and what sizes did u all use during your burms first few years. I am planning on using rubbermaids to start, then 4x2x18, then 6x3x18 or something close to that. When full size, space will also not be an issue, so not to worry. Thanks for sharing.

you proboboly wouldnt need to build the 4ft cage if you were just going to build a 6ft at the same time...if you have a snake that needs a 4ft cage a 6ft would work fine also. If you wanted a smaller cage you could always build the 6ft with a removable divider.

Both those dimensions are fine. I think it's always better to start a baby off in something smaller to reduce the stress, but if you do plan on putting it in the 6 foot right away make sure to include lots of hides.

I agree, that it is much better to start off smaller. Both ideas provided above on doing that would be great.

OK thanks. Not sure if i mentioned it before but I do plan on using rubbermaids for the first few months so my burm will have all the security it needs. The removable divider sounds like a good idea, thanks again.
