Actually it is not a good idea to have other species in the same cage..... It can cause a ton of stress on your leo or other lizards you put together.....

My advice is to never mix species.....

Reptiles aren't really like mammals that can learn to adapt with different species. I really would stay away from putting anything else in with your leos. There might be a competition over food, and one of the species will suffer, if they don't kill each other first.

I find my leos like to be housed with mealworms, waxworms and lobster roaches. I have some terrariums where I have species of amphibians and fish mixed (much to the dismay of the folks on the frog forum). I have some setups like this for YEARS with no problems (except for the salamnder that bit a chunk out of its mate, fighting over food, mating "love bite"???). I can actually fit in some of these terrariums to give you an idea of how large the enclosures are. I wouldn't house any other lizards or herps with the leos.

Are you saying you wouldn't mix roaches, mealies and waxies with your leos?
