Best Humid Hide Substrate

I just got a new humid hide and i have been using paper towels for my old one but i want a more natural look I forget but someone in the earlier posts was posting pics and they kept theirs on some moss looking stuff they said it makes the pics look better is that a good substrate for humid hide any suggestons would be greatly appreciated thankyou in advance

Crushed up coconut bark seems to work really well. It absorbs the moisture and doesn't dry out very quickly. They sell it in bags practically at every pet store. I've heard of using regular planting soil too.

I like to use sphagnum moss (it's the stuff you've seen in the photos). It doesn't get kicked around as much as other substrates due to it's large clumpy size. It's easy to find at a plant nursery, or even the plant section of Home Depot.

When you first get it, it's very dry and won't hold moisture too well. The best thing to do is to submerge it in water and squeeze it several times. Once you've done that, it works great!

We use peat moss at work . . .Got a bag at the garden store, just make sure there's no fertilizers init. At home I've been using Bed-A-Beast . . . A bit easier to s tore . . .

I use a small sterilite box with vermiculite in it. I spray the vermiculite every three days or so to keep it moist. Both the males and females will use it, and the females will lay their eggs in it.
