All day today

Hi All,
Went out around my house in Twin Peaks today for about 4hrs.Went to some spots where I've seen zonatas before quite regulary, but after thousands of rocks, lol, no z's,still early though. But its nice to see springs running along side rock piles again,I bet its gonna be great this year for them.Did see many southern alligator lizards, fence lizards, many salamanders, western skins, and even a couple western toads. After that long hike and no snakes,I went straight to whitewater, got there around 6pm and 40 minutes in i saw a nice Speckled about mid canyon. Also saw a little night snake there too.The best though probably was a little 5 inch sidewinder at Snow Creek.Once I upload the pics i'll post all of them, some are ok-(for night) but thought I'd share again.I cant wait till my web site is fixed so i can put pics with these post.

Jeff, were you in the white car? It looked like a honda or something. I was out there last night. The only snake i found was a small Glossy. But the creek was full of Red-spotted Toads, Western Toads, and two species of Hyla, the Pacific and California Treefrogs.

Hi,
Yeah, I was in the white honda. When i first got there,I was going up the road, and a silver doge pick up came up behind me,was right on my a#@ so I let him by,he was all looking at me as he passed and as he went infront of me he had a lighting bolt sticker that had the rainbow in it-(you know what rainbow I'm talking about) and then sped up,then up the road aways theres his truck pulled over and hes on the side of the road with his thumb out like a hitch hiker smiling at me,F$%k that,I hate that s&*t.I dont think I'll ever go alone again, last saturday we drove it during the day time and saw lots of those types. Were you in a chevy..?,if so at one time when your truck was parked, that same guy was parked behind you and he was looking in your truck,I cant believe that all goes on out there so much. Here in San bernardino, off the 15 theres a road Cleghorn, and man, that place is the worst. We were driving and there was 2 dudes just ful on making out on the hood of their car, whats up with getting a hotel or something, why do they gotta take it to the field, that sucks. You never know, anyways, yes it was me.I saw someone walking along with a flashlight too, probably was you.I did see a few toads though.Actually the speckled was right where that turn is where the road is half way washed out.Anyways, wasnt stopping to talk to anyone last night, when your not sure if they wanna talk herps or some real Gay talk you know, just ot into it,lol. If I knew thats what you were doing,I would of wanted to go out walking too,I prefer that more than driving actually.Well maybe next time.peace man,
jeff

Now Jeff, why wouldn't "they" be out there. When you think about it, they are just out looking for a snake too..........LMAO. They must be getting the same "locales" off the net.

Yeah, that was me walking the wash. I was down there photographing the frogs. Yeah, that guy with the truck was irritating the hell out of me. He kept driving up and down the road right where I was at. Not only that (like you mentioned) after I parked my truck and started hiking up the hillside, I turned to see him checking out my truck. I immediately hollered at him and he tried to rush off. But I stopped him, asked him what he was up to and, he said he was also looking for snakes. He said his name was Richard. I asked him if he was on the internet but he said “no.” Dude its funny what you said about the gay thing, I was creeped out too. There was one dude walking around naked by the river as if he at home. While another guy with a red jetta pulled up while I was photographing the frogs and asked if I was scared to be out in the desert at night. I was like, what are you talking about this place isn’t even secluded or wild, there are people everywhere. It appears Whitewater Canyon should be renamed to Pinkwater.

You thought nighttime was bad there, try and hike out there during the day. I've unfortunately been out there a couple of times during the day and there are skinflutes everywhere. I don't know where they come from but they popup out of thin air, buck-naked and start trying to spark up a conversation. "It worped my fragile little mind." I don't know why the patrol doesn't do anything about it.
