Question about color morphs...

fruitionx Jul 08, 2003 07:02 PM

Hi.
I have been looking into getting a leopard gecko, i really want a albino one i think they are really neat. I was just wondering, what are the rarest morphs for albinos? And also if i was to get a breeding pair of leos what two morphs would produce what?
Thanks!

if you do not have a leopard gecko yet, why do you want the "rarest" morph. the rarest morph of albino, must be the paradox albino, only one that i know of in the world. for you breeding question, make it more specific, there are way to many combinations to go through. i recommend getting a cheaper gecko to start with, an albino is pretty cheap now a days, and get used to the feel of caring for it. or get a pair, and get a feel for breeding, if thats what your after. don't jump in too quickly.

If you don't have a leo don't even start THINKING about breeding until you have become comfortable with your pet and love it for what it is: a little miracle. We should own pets to embrace the miracles they are, not to see what they will give us.

Well, a very rare kind would be the Tremper giant albinos which go for about 1000 buck each. Other nice albinos morphs are tangerine albinos, jungle albinos, and chocolate albinos. Even regualr albinos are really nice...remember, don't go necessarily for "rare" or expensive morphs because less fancy morphs also have tons to offer. My little normal leo is wonderful and I wouldn't give her up even if I was offered 5 Tremper giants.

tremper giants actually start at $100 for normal het for albino, and $150-$200 for albino giants. then as the different morphs come into play they get more expensive.

the rarest but I know what I consider the nicest is a good clean, light colored rainwater albino. I would do a study of the morphs and go with what I thought was the most beautiful. Get a well started juvenile as a started if not a young adult they will be easier to care for. Leos are great pets and deserve every bit of love and respect they can get. -Geeboo
