couple of things...

I just purchased a 75 gallon tank for my beardie, if anyone has similar set up, could you recommend the right lighting wattage for the basking area? the dimensions are 48"L x 18"W x 24"H

Also, would more lighting than just basking light be needed for keeping the ambient temp throughout at correct levels?

and a warning for those that have crix shipped to them...twice I have found spiders hiding out in the eggcrates shipped with the crix, they are great at curling uo and hiding. If not very careful when unloading the crix you could miss them...no sense in losing good crix to the spiders so ckeck your shipments...

the exact wattage to use in a 75gal tank various. there are alot of other factors to take in consideration, like where the tank is located, ambient house temperatures etc. Iwould start with a 100W and work from there. Also, you can use a single or double florescent light fixture to hold your UVB bulb. with the duo fixture, you can put in a regular full spectrum bulb for extra light.

About the spiders....I ordered some crickets and it came with a spider in mine too....Needless to say I'm sure it was worth ordering as many crickets as I did. Most of them died....
(a thousand for those who are terribly curious)

I order from reptilefood.com...now I had one order arrive with all crix dead...and I also order 1000...within an hour of contacting them, they let me know that they'd be shipping a new order out free of charge the next day...which they did...so I can't complain too much...
