Well, i'll tell you this...common snappers are aggresive, they will strike at turtles larger than themselves, especially during feeding. Your RES may wind up woth a nasy bite to the face or other part of the body.
In other words, I dont recommend it. But thats just one mans opinion.

I don't think it's a good idea partially because the snapper could hurt the slider or if the slider is alot bigger than the snapper he could hurt the snapper. The slider would probably get most of the food too. Plus I don't think a baby snapper would be a strong enough swimmer for a 75 gallon if it's filled high enough for the slider to swim around.

Thats a good point I forgot about. The Slider is a strong swimmer, suited for deeper water. The snapper would not feed at the surface if its too deep.

I once had a 2" RES with 2 hatchling snappers in a 55 gallon. The slider bit both of their tails off. One lost half a tail, the other only had a nub left. After 2 years separated from the slider, the half tail was 5" long and the nub was only about 2.5" long. Losing a tail is pretty rough on a snapper, I wouldnt reccomend it.

those dimensions were shell length, not tail length
