I'm wondering if anyone knows how to rid the yard of fire ants in a safe manner for the tortoise. They are still hatchlings and live indoors on a turtle table for now. I live in SC where the fire ants can be hell in spring and summer. Thanks for any replies.

I just responded to a similar question on the main tortoise forum, but at my work we encountered an ant problem around animals. Their safe solution was yellow corn meal. So we spread it around the area to get rid of them. I have no idea what the corn meal does to the ants but that's how they have been dealing with them for a long time. Good luck

Thanks. If you find out what the corn meal does to the ants let us know. It's bound to be interesting. Thanks again.
