Aggression problems....STILL....Please help...

MissMiniZoo Mar 12, 2005 06:10 PM

I'm still having problems with Irwin and his extreme aggression. He had a growth removed from his tongue about 3 weeks ago, but he has not really settled down yet. He is still launching himself into the side of his cage to get at me or anything else that goes near his cage. I am at a loss...I don't know what to do with him. He has never been like this before. I don't know if it could still be breeding aggression or not. It seems like it will never end. I have no idea what to do or how long I should wait for it to end before doing something. I'm kinda afraid that he is in pain from something else. Like I said he was to the vet and she said he seemed very healthy other than the growth that was removed. So I really have no idea. I just can't take this much longer. Any ideas as to what I should do??

One valid solution: Pad the laces where he bashes his face against the cage, and grit your teeth and wait it out. Other have done it that way until their igs' hormones settled down. To me it sounds like heavy breeding season aggression. Maybe the surgery initiated it.

You also might consider taking him to a different expert reptile vet for an exam. New eyes might see something formerly overlooked.
