Weird scales

shadowmonkey01 Mar 12, 2005 07:20 PM

When I got my ball python out today I noticed a series of weird scales along the top of his back.I included a pic. of the largest of three sections.I just wanted to know if it is something I should be concerned about or if it's just something that makes him unique.Or if it is something that just happened last time he shed and will possibly change on the next shed?

Is this just a color change in the scales? Looks kinda neat........Pinstripe

Yeah the scales look like they lost pigment, the scales are still there, just really light.

usually scar tissue.......burns..cuts..scrapes........

usually.......

won't hurt.......may shed out.may remain life of snake as off colored scales.....

at times just patches of odd colored scales......*(these look like scarrings).......

It looks to me like it's a scar maybe from an escape attempt, improper shed, or bad rub. My old guy had some like that after a failed escape attempt, they were discolored for quite a while before they went away.

looks like bad shed to me... does he have problems shedding? If kept too dry, problem sheds can do that.. if that's the case, it should go away after a few good sheds...
