Is everything ok with this breeding?

bigdee Mar 13, 2005 10:06 AM

Monday I noticed my het albino boas locked up I dont know how long before that they where locked. To my knowledge they where locked for at least 4-5 days, I checked on them yesterday and noticed they where not locked he was just sitting on top of her and then I noticed the heat was off. I thought the thermostat broke so I unpluged heat tape and plug into the wall well still no heat, on the plug of the heat tape is a on/off knob I turned that and the heat came on but I dont even remember turning it off well I know I didnt. What I need to know is did this stop them from breeding or are they finished and if so whats next? is there anything I should be looking for like the swelling? can I or should I clean the cage now? can I feed them? When or do I take him out?

I would keep them together. Mine do this, they will be locked up for weeks (courting) then they will stop for like a week and I usually get bumed out because I have not seen ovulation yet but then they go at it some more. When they stop all breeding activity you should take the chance to feed them and spot clean, I do not clean the cages while breeding unless it gets bad then I will but spot cleaning is a must.
