I.R.B.A. SHOW IN SAN DIEGO

Fred Albury Mar 13, 2005 11:31 AM

I attened the I.R.B.A. Show in San Diego yesteday (Saturday) and despite claims that it would be bad, it was actually a pretty good show for an early show in the year. Several Boa Breeders were there, such as Randy Wright, Basically Boas, and Dave Speckin. Of course, lots of odds and ends, and some brokers. But all in all a good show for its size with a good gate draw. It is on today also. Anyone else here attend this show?

Cheers

Hi there

I use to live in san diego many years ago and I attended the very first show. and it was amazing. there were tv crews there, big time breeders and alot of SHOW reptiles like 20 green anacondas and the quite new albino boas and the exeptionally new piebald ball pythons, I remember seeing a pic of one and actually there wern't any there, I thought this pic was unreal but eventually started seeing more and more pic over the years. It was the best show, prehistoric pets were there i think, and i remember a great african american man telling me that he was the one that had to carry this huge green anaconda to the van and he made me laugh as he said that people were saying, " there's a ...... with an anaconda. great guy. I knew the people who started the show, David good and Ray buzby, great guys with alot of knowledge about reptiles. I think neodiisha was there also, garey siperly of san diego reptile breeders, it was such a great show and I went to the second one a year later and was a little dissapointed with it, and I think it went slowly down hill fromthere which is a shame.

regards and im not checking for spelling mistakes, sorry.

I was also there yesterday. It was a decent show, nothing too spectacular, but I did end up getting a Colombian from LLL. I can't wait for the Anaheim show later this year, I hear it's going to be huge.

Steve and I attending the IRBA show in Del Mar basically to see old friends and get caught up with the breeding season make sure everyone else was on track.. I have to say when we walked in Steve looked at me and said "i bet were out of here in ten minutes" The first row wasnt that promising... LLL, Reptile Jewelery, Vets, San Diego Animal hospital ect... but the second row surprised us... Mike from Basically had some nice Honey salmons on his table.. Everyone should pick up one of those lines, Camlian Reptiles had a great set up and Deb and Diana are nice as could be and the rest of the show wasnt as bad as some of the prior years have been... Steve and I hope that the IRBA hangs around but i do hope that Brian Potter (NARBC) decides to do another show in southern california... i have heard rumblings....BUT all in all Steve and i hung out at the show for 1.5 hours and felt that it was a good show on the out takes.... thumbs up for IRBA Del Mar show..

Sincerley,
