Either one is fine...they both achieve the same objective.

cool mist is better.warm mist tends to make the air stale and breeds all sorts of bacteria. bacteria = stress. good luck matt

I have used both cool and warm, I haven't had any problems with mold/bacteria growth. Just make sure your cage is well ventilated. Good luck!

The ultrasonic humidifiers I've used emitted fog that was about room temp. Humidifiers (may also be sold as vaporizers) that heat the water so that it boils create steam. I don't think I would aim it right where the cham tends to sit. For the general cage, either way the temperature of the fog itself will be pretty moderated by evaporation. IF you hope to use the fog to cool off the cage at night, don't buy a warm mist type.
