has anyone used the exo terra fogger b/c they are marked way down at my petsmart, so i was wondering if its a deal or if they don't work? ed

I have one that I use with my waterfall. It only increases the humidity at the bottom of the tank. If it's placed in a very deep container it'll produce fog that floats a few inches higher than the container but everything in the layer of the fog will become saturated. Wood will become moldy, dirt will turn to mud, and moss will become very soggy. I think it's better used as a visual treat rather than a way to increase humidity.

I've found mine, which admitedly has only been running a few days, increases humidity as a gradient throughout the tank.
I have it running for short periods, more at night than during the day, for a total of about two hours a day.

My main concern, actually, is whether the frog will try to go into the cave where the fogger is situated.
