Will it grow back?
It all depends if the nails have just been sanded down so to speek or broken off there is a good chance they will grow back. If the nails was pulled out then it will not grow back so look and see is there is ne nail still showing and that will tell you if it will grow back or not.
If the nails pulled out and damaged the nailbed, they won't grow back. If the nail simply broke off at the base it might. Most often this happens when they snag their claws in cage screen, so you may have to alter the cage with a lot more climbing areas to coax the cham away from climbing the screen. Do whatever you can to keep him from climbing the screen. You should also look into finding larger mesh and replace the screen. Watch the toes with missing claws carefully. If the toes get swollen, stiff and hard to the touch you will need to treat for infections or the cham could lose the toe or worse. In the mean time, clean the toe tips with Betadine and dab some Polysporin antibiotic ointment on the tips until the wounds are closed. Both these are available at any pharmacy or grocery drug section.
