wooden or rock basking spot

hey guys thanks for help with sexing,im keeping the bigger one,even tho the smaller one has nicer head,anyway putting new touches to my new vivarium and read that i shouldnt put a log of wood at basking spot as then dragons tummy dont get heated properly to digest food...is this TRUE??? should i put a rock or piece of slate or would my log of wood be ok??

I've used both. In fact in my tank right now my beardie has a cinderblock and a log to bask on. I have a digital thermometer with a probe and the probe says that the surface of the wood is 115degrees. I could see why rock could be considered better because they do heat up qwuicker and maybe even hotter, but as long as you have good lighting, wood will heat up just fine as well
