Heat gun input

jmartin104 Mar 14, 2005 10:55 AM

I'm in the market for a heat gun and find a wide variety. What do you have and what do you like AND dislike about it? I would like something that I can actually use on my snakes as well as other areas.

Thanks!

I got a tempgun about a month ago thats made by tempgun.com I got the cheapest one about 25$. so far it works very well reading the temps in my lizard cages and rc engine temps. You could probably find on at a r/c hobbystore if theres any near you. So far no drawbacks and its very accurate.

I use a Raytek MT4 laser model.

I found it on sale for $50 about 4 years ago.

I first looked at the Raytek’s because they were used for professional applications, and known for their quality.

Well I’m hooked; I love it, and would buy another if this one dies.

I can’t give you specs to compare to other brands about accuracy, but I checked it out when I purchased mine. They claimed they were the same or better then any of the other manufactures out there.

That’s the thing, you have to believe the manufacturer, that their product is accurate within plus/-2% or plus/- 3deg F whichever is greater.

I have checked mine against several other thermometers and thermostats, and it always gives a comparably reading within tenths.
