really, you should give it about 2 weeks.

your head will collapse, but there's nothing in it, and you'll ask yourself, "where is my mind"
I'm not sure I would say there is one definitive amount of time before you can start handling your gecko. All geckos are different. I would wait until it is eating regularly and then it should be safe to handle your gecko. If it is eating good then that should be a good sign that he/she is comfortable in his/her surroundings.

I have to agree. my new patternless was about a month old, and she eats 15 to 20 crix a night, loves them, and she ate right when I got her home, and had no problem with me handling her. My albino and my normal were very stressed though, I had to give them about 2 weeks.

I would say just general maintenance for the first week then some contact. Actually depends on the leo and how it was raised. My babies are handled every other day from birth and by the time they are sexed are reliant on human contact it seems. Some juvies and pet store leos are quite wild. -Geeboo
