Plants for turtle pond

knollwood Mar 14, 2005 01:55 PM

I recently moved my RES into a preformed pond liner that is being kept indoors. I was wondering what type of plants can be placed in the pond? So far the pond contains some rocks and a filter. What else could I add to make the environment more natural and enjoyable for the turtles?

Pretty much anything you put in there is going to get munched down. Try some Java fern, water lettuce and water hyacinth is good. Water sprite is okay too and they may leave that alone (not likely though).

Frog bit is good, too, although it is small.
