Miracle egg???

GoldfishChick Mar 14, 2005 03:56 PM

i have two female leos and a male and both female have layed their first set of eggs.

Today i decided to candle the eggs with a pen light. All three eggs (one leo only layed one egg) have red veins and the oldest egg (15 days) has a darkish shadow that i am assuming is the developing embryo. Now, this egg i was most interested in viewing since it was the oldest egg. I lifted it (keeping it in the same postition of course) and was a bout to raise the light to the bottom of the egg when i noticed that the bottom was badly dented! i didn't think that eggs could survive so badly dented! does this happen often? Is there still a chance that after 15 days the egg could still die from the dent?

^.^

ussually dented eggs mean the egg has allready perished. I ussually seperate a egg into another container if it dents because chances are that it will mold, and if it does, it may contaminate the other eggs.
