New Crested set-up help

dafunk5446 Mar 14, 2005 05:46 PM

Hello,
Im setting up my crested's tank and I want everything to be perfect when he gets here. I was just wondering if anyone could help me? I think you would call my tank a 29 gallon? its 30"x13"x25" (L*w*h), anyway I was just wondering how many times a day I would need to mist this size tank. Also its kinda cold in my room, around 65f most of the time
(my dad is a thermostat nazi), should I put a low watt bulb above his cage just to up the temp a bit? If so what wattage bulb should I buy? Last thing, would a trio be comfortable in this size cage? Any way thanks for any help you could give and your time that I have wasted.

You need the humidity to be around 60-80% all day and i give mine a really heavy misting at night (because i don't use a water bowl) and during the day you need the temp to be around 72-80 degrees try to keep it lower than 83 degrees and during the night the temp. can drop down to around 65 (just make sure they can warm up during the day) as for the wattage size you are going to have to expirement with different watt sizes.

Hope this helped,

Derek
