How dangerous is it to feed on aspen if snake is 6'?

I know about impaction and all that. But isn't that mainly referring to the younger (smaller) animals? If thay can digest and pass bones from a large rat, can't they handle a little fiber along the way? Anybody out there have any experience with this? Just tired of newspaper.

I have 6 ball pythons, and numerous other smaller snakes, and I have used aspen for years, and I have never had a problem. My snakes eat on the aspen. The reptile specialty store in my area only uses aspen for snakes, and has never had a problem. My exotic vet has told me that it is extremely rare for a larger snake to become impacted by aspen.

All in all I think you are okay with aspen!
