Breeding loan... variation

jmartin104 Mar 15, 2005 08:13 AM

This topic comes up every now and again. It has me thinking. I would not send my high-end morph to anyone I absolutely did not trust 100%. That being said, I would consider breeding my morph to someone's female. But I would still need to trust them, quarantine their animal and take a few other precautions.

Why? Well, let's say I have a friend with a Spider and I have a Pastel. This would be a good way for him to get Pastels and me to get Spiders. Neither of us really risked our morphs by sending them away. As long as the females were healthy and without issues, this would be a fairly good way to expand one's collection. Of course there are many details to work out.

Thoughts?

I may be wrong but if I understand you correct...If you had a female pastel and your friend had a spider you would just make a swap of same sex morph hatchlings? if this right there is a slight price diffrence in these snakes?

someone recently said and i agree that if you had a spider and we were to deal I would send you my female ready to breed. when the eggs are laid you would send back my female and the first morph yours and the second mine the third yours and so on...and all the normals to be split. Know with that said you not only do you have to trust in quallity of care for my snakes but I have to trust that you will split evenly.

sorry so long

Spider x Pastel = Who gets the Bumblebee? ;p

To avoid ruining a great business relationship between the two parties, I'd be happy to take the bumblebee - this way it would be fair! LOL!

y dont u guys make the bumblebee 50/50 for a yr or two....if its a male u breed back to the female and make more bumblebees and then split that and go on ur way....that wat i would do and think it's best...thanks for reading

Let's say for example, you have a pastel male and I have a spider male. You send me a ready-to-breed female and I'll do the same. Now, we split both clutches (fairly). Now, we both have expanded our collections - without real cost.

Of course, you are right. There would be several things to determine up front.
