Coastal Plains Milksnake question

Malays Mar 15, 2005 01:48 PM

Anyone keep Coastal plains milksnakes? I am suprised such a great looking snake isnt as popular as I thought it would be.
I am interested in care advice for it . I imagine its probably bit more secretive than most milks , stressed by handling, kept same as a Ca king but any info is appreciated.
thanks

I breed Tyrrell Co, NC Coastals. In general they are hardy and easy to keep. The reason that more people don't have them (in my opinion) is that they are hard to get started as hatchlings because they are so small.

I assume since Scarlet Kings and Eastern Milk neonates feed mainly on small snakes and lizards/skinks that the Coastal Plains would feed mainly on those as neonates? What do you get yours feeding on each year? Nice looking snake, definitely looks like a triangulum X elapsoides mix.

Magnificent looking snake. What do you feed your feed yours when first born? Are they hard to wean towards pinkies as some graybandeds are?

I feed them mouse tails and pinkie parts. It's not too difficult as long as you don't mind mouse guts

Thanks for the info and the site. I notice none available now . When you have them do you advertise in classifieds or best to check your site during May,June?

I'll have them advertised both in the classifieds here on KS and on my website.
