Hi,

How long do I wait before I feed my new leopard gecko when I get him?

Try feeding him/her right away, see if it will eat. But Mine took about 2 weeks before she would eat after I got her, so it may take time. Keep at it though. If she is real stressed you should leave her along for a couple days so she can calm down.

...on the leo. When I have got new shipments in, some of them will take a couple of days to start eating and some will actually start eating right away. The last female that i just got for my breedign stock started eating that very same night.

Sometimes a leo just needs to settle in and get use to the new environment, plus shipping adds stress to it as well.

Try some mealies so you dont have crix jumpin all over the place to disturb your leo to see if it will eat right away or not.

Give it at least a day or two to adjust to it's new home you will find that the extra comfort will help it eat better then and will not stress it as much. I think that feeding to soon kinda scares them away from the food a little.
