im wondering something

raisnok Mar 15, 2005 05:18 PM

yesterday i got naaza my corn snake. they said it had been a bout 8 days since the snake had ate any thing it was getting time to feed them, (they told me they feed the snakes then wont sell them for 2 to 3 days after they have eaten). so when i got home i thawed a pinkie mouse, it was a day old mouse?? it looked very small..... well i found poop in the snakes enclosure today when i came in from work....
is this bad or good or normal? the tank temp gets to 85 in the warmer side... im wondering if the one mouse wasnt enough? because it seemed to have went through his system in 24 hours...

It's possible that this came from the last feeding at the store (or wherever you got it). It is also possible that the little pinkie was digested that quickly especially with the temps up to 85.
The 85 is a touch warm. Try to get it down just a little, maybe 3 to 5 degrees.
How big is you snake?
It is hard to tell if the pinkie was too small or if your snake needs more food if we don't know how big it is.

well, poop is a good sign, no poop is a bad sign.
I wouldn't be overly concerned.
Just give the little guy a few days and feed it again.
I think I would go with a fuzzie or large pinkie.

If Naaza went to the bathroom...at least he's not constipated! My corn snake hardly hangs out under the heat lamp or on the heat mat. He likes to chill under his shoe box with Sosa (Ball Python)

If you keep a corn with a ball you obviously know nothing of corns, or snakes in general, and you shouldn't be here giving people advice.

WELL, I ALSO FEED HOME MADE PIZZA TO MY CORN SNAKE AND BALL PYTHON AND AT NIGHT WE DRINK GREEN TEA TOGETHER...NOT TO MENTION HOW WE HAVE A CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE EATING CONTEST...MAN YOU SHOULD SEE MY SNAKES CHASE THOSE COOKIES WITH AN ICE COLD GLASS OF MILK!
