Blue Giant Day Gecko

Mad_1234 Mar 15, 2005 05:29 PM

Hi,
I'm new to the forum and just wanted to share a couple of photos of my female Giant Day Gecko. She has a blue hue to her that I have never seen in any other Giant Day Geckos. I would like to breed her but have never found a male with similiar coloration. Does anybody know of any breeders trying to breed blue Giant Days.

I have seen a few P.mad.grandis with a blue color, but all of them were hatchlings and didn't keep the blue as they got older. That is a very nice animal!

Hi,

that a beautiful animal and you really should establish her colours for other herpers by selective breeding.
But are you sure its a pure grandis?
Some blue is typiucal for mad mad or mad mad x mad grandis intergrades.

That is something that typically occurs with crosses with mad mads. I have produced a few babies with blue heads but have never seen one with that much blue on it's body. Pretty incredible looking.
