Some Quick Questions

Triad Mar 15, 2005 05:50 PM

I just want to know how everyone's uros are doing now after brumation/no brumation.

Also has anyone had any breeding success with their uro's?

If so congrats and I hope they turn out healthy and happy hardy lil eaters.

Ok, now some other questions: I was thinking on making a uro site and I know most of the basic questions, for more tough questions I'd be directing to breeders themselves.

Does anyone know a reason why a uro wouldn't be growing? I was thinking the only reason is disease or improper cage temps. If that's right then all I need to do is finish and site is done.

Thanks.

Later.

Good luck with your site!

I don't know this with any certainty, but I would suppose that anything wrong in the husbandry (not just temps) would cause stress and possibly stunt growth.

I know my two adopted Malis Turtle and Tank are very small for their age. They lived together in a fairly small cage before me, plus it looks like they have had a heavy pinworm load for a long time (didn't show up on first fecal, but LOTS in second one 6 mo. later). Also turns out they're both males and Turtle is much smaller than Tank (possible intimidation?). Any one of these things - small cage, parasites, cagemate stress - might explain their small size for their age.
