I want to get a breeding thing started and I think that amazon tree boas would be a good first breeder. I have read some literature and this is how I think I want to setup the cage and I have one qouestion do automatic drippers work well for these guys the ones that drip 24 hours a day and/or would spraying be better? ok my cage setup is this for bedding I will have water with something to make paper towels be able to sit on top of it. Then I will have a either dripper or spray the cage for added humidity and have a humid box just incase necesary(if not necesary please specify). I will have a temperature of about 80 degrees all the time with a slite drop at night. For perches I will use many burnt PVC pipes(if you have a lot of perches is it necesary to have as large a cage?). I am not sure on size of cage it is weird how many answers I have read and gotten but could someone give me minimal dimensions if you have a extreme amount of perches.
Thanks in advance for all responses
josh

Dirt or cypress mulch works well for substrate. personally i think a snake would much rather sit on a branch than a burnt piece of plastic. i know people use them with good results but in all the pics i see of the snake and a couple plastic perches it just doesnt look like somthing a snake would choose if it had the choice. Tree snakes live in trees no on plastic pipe..just my opinion.
I mist mine daily..you may need to mist more often depending on you cage and how well it holds humidity. If your looking to breed them anytime soon i would suggest getting adults.
