Where can I buy a good, cheap cage online

msubigdawg Jul 08, 2003 10:16 PM

Does anyone know a good website that has good cheap cages I could get for my Brazilian Rainbow Boa. I dont want to use a rubbermaid container.

Boaphile plastics has 4ft by 2ft for $200 shipped.

I also want to know how to light those cages like on boaphile and all other cages like that.

They would be the best bet for a brb, they retain heat and humidity like no other cage. A 3'x2' is all you need for a brb. They run $199 shipped unheated or $235-$250 heated. Just go to boaphileplastics.com.

Precision cages are in my opinion the best buy for your money. The 3' x 20" x 13 1/4" are around $125. I just ordered 15 of the four footers and couldn't be happier. One of the easiest ways to light them is to use rope lighting. It's safe and cheap. Good luck.

I have Precision cages and they work well. They are light and very durable. Plus, you can't go wrong witht the price.

I bought a few from Jeff Ronne / Boaphile and couldn't be happier!
I bought lots more recently and now have close to 20 of the 4 foot long 421D models and various racks too.
'They hold humidity like no other is true!' My Brazilian, Columbian and Argentine Rainbows couldn't be happier. My True redtails love them. My Columbian redtails bred more easily this year in the Boaphiles than in anything else i've ever had them in. I produced 2 litters of 64 live young with only 2 stillborn and a few slugs in one litter.

I ordered them with the installed heat tape AND installed fluorescent light strip. A few dollars more and the thing comes complete - shipped and all - all I had to do was plug it in!!!

They are extremely lightweight AND ALSO extremely durable. The strength and longevity of these are not comprimised - materials and hardware are top notch. Furthermore, the cages are gauranteed for life! Should anything happen under normal use, simply return it and Jeff will help you out. They just sent me a replacement lightstrip for one of my cages... now how can you beat that?!
They also stack neatly and easily and come with free stacking pins to keep them perfectly in line so everything works smoothly.
I also bought a number of these cages with the expandable end option to make pairing / breeding a snap!

No offense to other cage builders out there but in my opinion, some of the light ones are too flimsy, or they don't come with heat/light installed, or they don't have lifetime gaurantees, or they are much heavier, or they take up too much space, or they don't retain humidity as well, or not as easy to clean, or....etc., etc., etc.

I think you get my point! lol...

Why buy something half the quality to save only $50 or so?

my $.02

take care...

I have used Doug Barr's cages for several years and I love them, I now keep all my snakes in these cages only and get another 6 or so each year from him at the Expo show. They are light weight, escape proof and look very professional. The material is also easy to work with so I can attach lights and heat where I want them. His web site link is below.
Thanks
