Komodo Dragon at Boise Zoo

jmertes Mar 15, 2005 09:55 PM

Hi

I was at the Boise Zoo the other day, and was lucky enough to see the Komodo Dragon wandering outside and enjoying the sun.

Must have been 6-7 ft or so...pretty heavy though.

Take care, sorry links should work, don't see easy
way to attach multiple pics.
Jeff

Awesome creatures, they just exude power. Our zoo is rather "reptile challenged", not too much to look at other than snakes which are not that interesting to me personally. I have seen the Komodos in West Palm Beach at Dreher Park and at Busch Gardens though. Thanks for sharing.

It wasn't that long ago when it was truely something for a zoo to have Komodo's; it sounds like they are much easier to obtain now. Is it from captive breeding or more lax export laws?
