What could you recommend as a got lighting source for a california kingsnake. Like as a spectrum of lighting during the day. I have heard that they really dont require a special light but just one to keep it warm enough and a heating pad will work at night. Open for any help. Possibly suggestions on brands of lighting. thanks

Full spectrum lighting is not required and can be HARMFUL to snakes. The light can damage their eyes. Those lights are designed for lizards. I would use a ceramic heater if you need more heat.

It is also noteworthy to mention that if you collected this individual and it is indigenous in your area you need not spend the extra money on a heating pad at night as I am sure its warmer in your enclosure than it is out in the bush
