Just currently bought a schniders skink (spelling) I only have him under a basking spot lamp right now for the heat. I was wondering what type of lighting is approiate for a skink. Do they need a uva and uvb light source? Open for any help. If possible any brands of lighting you could recommend. thanks

Well for schneider skink care I strongly recommend this page: www.helsinki.fi/~tuomola/I have emailed the guy who made it several times and he is like THE expert. It talks about lighting i believ in "housing" I to have a schneider but i don't really know if my lighting is any good. It's just one of those UV bulbs near the left side of the terrarium and a basking lamp with heat bulb near the right side. But ya I don't know a lot so check out the site. Hope it helps!
