Hello everyone,

I am in need of info on importing tortoises.
I have met people all over the world that keep and breed tortoises.

What do I need to do to import their offspring into the states?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I suggest that you contact first your local officials and see what they offer for advice. Some states have specific laws about importing, etc. SEcond, I believe that the USDA (?) controls the import of animals. (I could be totally wrong) You might contact them.

I believe there is a little known CDC reg that says it is illegal to import a turtte under 4" into the US except in very small numbers. If it's not a CDC reg, it might be a USDA reg.
