The difference btw a lavender and albino cal king

steffenssnakes Mar 16, 2005 10:44 AM

Well I have a het for lavender male cal king and I was wondering whether or not there was a difference in the lavender and albino gene or is it just apperence? If I buy a normal albino female, will the babies come out albino???

Also just wondering if you breed a normal to an albino will some come out albino or will they all come out normal apperance het for albino??
Thanks

**Well I have a het for lavender male cal king and I was wondering whether or not there was a difference in the lavender and albino gene or is it just apperence?**

They are both 2 separate recessive genes and are not compatible. If you breed a lavender with an albino you will get normal looking babies that are 100% double hets (albinio & lavender).

**If I buy a normal albino female, will the babies come out albino???**

If you breed your male (het for lavender) to a female (albino), all the offspring will be 100% het for albino, and some will be het for lavender. You won't be able to tell by sight which ones are het for lavender.

**Also just wondering if you breed a normal to an albino will some come out albino or will they all come out normal apperance het for albino??**

They will all come out normal looking (het for albino).
