Water snake food

mizar 21 Mar 17, 2005 07:09 AM

My water snake eat very easily, thawed trout piece or pinkye. I was wonder if it can be a good idea to try some meat, like chicken heart or liver ? I really think he will eat it if i scent it a little bit before. He's always hungry that little pig. I dust all his food with calcium and vitamins , because trout piece may miss some nutrient since they have no bones or organs. Do you think that liver or heart can be a good addition to his meal ? Right now he's about 15 inch and a little fat, lol. I feed him about once a week. I'Ll try to take a good pic this week.

I would suggest you to feed it rodents. You could feed it other things, as logn as it smells liek fish to it, but I do not think it is a good base diet. Beef has to much fat in it compared to a fish or frog, its natural prey. I would not over do it with the vitamins either. You can give to much you know.
