Hello all. I have posted once before on the old list, but I am new to THIS one! :0) I have had Rachel a year and a half. She is THE BEST snake I could get for my first one!
She was 6 months when I got her according to a breeder. The guy I bought her from said she was wild caught, but she is SO SWEET that I have to wonder at that! She only bit me once (a couple of months ago). She was in a shed and HUNGRY! She wrapped my hand as I lowered her to her feeding tank. My hand spasmed since she hit a nerve. She felt my hand twitch and BAM, I got nailed! :0) She has NEVER offered to strike either before or since! Are wild caught so tame?
I am going to try my hand at raising mice to feed her. I live VERY far from the nearest pet store that carries rodents, so I might as well work on raising my own!
I bought her a small tree thing with a large opening at the base for her to hide in. She LOVES IT! I can't wait till she finds out she has something to climb now.
Rachel is wonderful. I have a friend trying to get her away from me, but NO DICE! I will get pics up soon.
Can't wait to share stories with you all!
