Just have a question.....my gila is sneezing...wondering if she has respiratory infection. If so....before I take to vet would should I do with the enclosure......

Should I heat it up..cool down...raise or lower humidity..??? Please help..Thanks

Without knowing what temp you are keeping the critter at, it's hard to say. My initial instinct is to say raise that sucker's temp.

How long before your vet visit? I agree with the other post that raising the temps to the higher end of the prefered range is ideal but still have a cooler side. If possible, seperate your gilas.

Your vet will discuss diagnosis and treatment, but it is important to reassess all aspects of your husbandry. Are your gila's stressed by anything? Do they have enough hiding spaces? Is is humid enough in these hides, dry enough otherwise, temps, basking spots ect. This is important because respiratory infections are almost always related to husbandry.

I currently have a hot end of about 88 F to 90F with a cool end of about 75F....I have a vet visit scheduled for next thursday. I have slightly raised temp.....and I have lowerd humidity....she does actually seem a little more active...looks fine...just a little less willing to take food than the other(who eats everthing). I will try to feed again today...Thanks for all the help.
