Question about scars

HLuterman Mar 17, 2005 02:44 PM

Hello,

I have a colombian boa whose previous owner fed him live rats. So my poor boa has some scars. The scars on his sides are dark in color, and didn't change much after this shed he just went through (the first one since I've had him), so I'm guessing they're older. He has two on his face that seem very new, and I noticed that on his shed skin there's scabs - now the bites are bare skin and white. My question is, do scars eventually fade as they get older? Do they grow their scales back? He's only about a year old (4 ft long, so maybe a little older).

Not that I wouldn't love him any less if his scars were permanent.

When I first got back into boa's alot of my larger boa's were rescues an a few of them have scaring just like your boa's,What I have noticed is with time an propper temps an humidity the scaring will start looking better with time as far as the white spot goes clean it an put a little of the regular neosporin on it every 4 or 5 days an with time it will get better also,Remember they are scars an may not ever go away but they will look better with time with the propper care!Hope this helps you!Take care Eric[Hypoboa]
