I'll take a crack at it and guess it's a black rat snake. Looks alot like the one in a nearby reptile zoo. I will admit that I am far from authoritative on this topic

But I came out from Arizona!! I agree they are the most common snake I've seen out this way. It was kind of a cool picture as well.
You had me all fired up to see a wild indigo! How big is it? Kind of looks like a garter by the shape of the head.
Looking at the lack of keeled scales, shape of head, and other things, I am going to have to say racer...

the souther black racer. I live in central florida, not a single herp outing goes by without seeing them
I live in Orlando and as much as I love snakes, I am fairly sick of black racers.
