ballpythonjohn Mar 17, 2005 03:42 PM

i am thinking about getting another leo . i want to get a male however i already have a male . i have heard and read that if u put them in the same house they will fight . recently at a reptile show in the pittsburgh area i was going to buy another male but i held off. the guy i was going to buy it from said it would be ok as long as mine was not exposed to a breeding female he use another word for it but have sence forgot it . is this true or was he just trying to make a quick buck ? was what i heard and read true about placing two males together ? if i bought a female and place her with my male is there any way of keeping them from haveing kids that was my other option . any help will be helpful
thank you
john

About the male and the female breeding together, they wont, unless its a certain temperature and you have a box for her to lay eggs. So i wouldnt worry about that. About the two males, im sure they would get along fine but i would double check with someone else on this site who knows a little more than i do. But i am sure about the temperature and the breeding. Do some research on the computer if no one else answers your question.

Alright, well.. Mature males will fight, even without a girl to fight over.. Don't even bother going there, lol. And.. As for the prevention of breeding, to my knowledge there isn't a way to prevent a male and female from breeding if they're in the same enclosure. Take care.

If you put a male and a female together they will breed regardless of temperature or if they have a laying site.

If you put two males togehter they will fight, regardless of if there is a female present or not. Even if they dont fight for there first year or so, they will, i have seen it happen a million times.
