nez02 Mar 17, 2005 04:06 PM

I was wondering how often I should feed my cham. meal worms. I bought some medium ones today. Hes about 2 months maybee younger. He's eating about 6 small crickets a day.

Thanks

I usually don't feed my panthers mealworms that often...maybe once a month. Even though you gut load them, they're not very nutritious and have too much chitin.

What do you suggest besides crickets?

Waxworms (just as a treat...are high in fat), cockroaches, silk worms, horn worms, house flies, grasshoppers, mouse pinkies.

Mealworms do have the lowest calium and vitamen ratio of any feeder while also havinf the worst meat to shell ratio. I have tried them all and most worms make great snaks, but roaches can be your everyday feeder.
