humidity/environment for IJ BTSs?

ryo Mar 17, 2005 04:57 PM

I was wondering what the environment, particularily the humidity, for Irian Jaya BTSs is supposed to be. I know that BTSs are usually associated with savannahs. But doesn't Irian Jaya have a rainforest climate, and since IJs come from there, shouldn't they be kept that way? Or am I missing something? Is the part that they come from like most of the island, or is it a different atmosphere? I was bored, and so I was thinking(that's something new). Any one have any ideas? Thanks ahead of time.

I own 2 IJ's and I have had them for over a year now, I keep their basking temps at about 95-100 degrees and cool end of the tank about 75-80 degrees. As for humidity, I keep it about 45% but don't worry too much about it. If you have a large water bowl in there, they should be fine.

Also make sure they are housed seperate from eachother. :D
