Rob,

Very nice. And that halloween Pueblan you posted is outstanding. I'm going to try to make oreos this year - here is a pic of my male. It should be interesting to see what hypo oreos look like when they're produced.

I thought this was proven to be something that can not be reproduced? In other words it happens randomly. Has there recently been evidence to prove otherwise? I love the look of both snakes but know someone who tried to prove them out and got nowhere.... Tom Stevens

I was actually thinking the same exact thing earlier today when I saw those pics. But, I would assume if you bred 2 "oreos" together you would get more oreos, especially if the male and female were oreos, as the babies are supposed to carry on those colors. But I heard it wasn't any kind of trait or anything as well, and it's almost like a random phenomenon(without it being a phenomenon).

Shannon worked with these and found only the "reverse" oreos to be genetic. The halloweens and bi-colors have yet to prove out, but there's alway hope they will.

Follow-up:

Perhaps when bred with the "hypos", something genetic will come out.

I expect that there will be some degree (probably a high degree) of variability when oreos are bred to oreos. I'll get some pics online when the eggs hatch (this is my first attempt). The male I posted has been bred back to its oreo mother, so chances are good that I'll get at least some oreos in the clutch.

Time will tell!

I do wish you luck with this and all your projects but don't hold your breath on this one. I know someone who bred the hellouta these morphs and ended up with a crillion average Pueblans. If you do reproduce them it will be kind of a big deal so keep us posted. I am kind of surprised you weren't aware of this? The guy who coined these names himself tries to discourage people from using the terms. Good luck though, anything is possible, maybe you got the magic snake. Tom Stevens

Magnificent looking snake. I hope you sell the offsprings to New Yorkers as he wont.
