A burm or any of the real big species of snake would not do well in a cage that size and style. If you wanted to use that closet you would need a more arboreal species of snake since there is so little ground space.

Flip the closet over so it is lying on its back. Thus, it will be 8 feet long instead of 8 feet high. Then bolt on some glass tracks along the frame on the top and bottom of the opening. Then insert several pieces of glass to slide along the over tracks. Next drill some vent holes on the side. You should also coat the wood with polyeurathane or some other water-proof product. That way the wood won't rot if water spills and it will be easier to clean. Post this message on the habitat and enclosure forum. You could probably keep a 12 foot burm or retic in an 8*4*4, but some people will say it is bad to have a cage that is 4 feet deep because you will have to lean in to get the snake and that may be dangerous.
