What is it?

I was thinking this might be a Copperbellied watersnake, however I live in southern middle TN.. The terain is apropriate but they are not known to exist below northwestern KY.
Please help!

Since no description details were given besides the pic, I'll have to agree with Lemon Viper, assuming the animal is less than a foot in length. If that sucker is four feet long, we'll go back to the drawing boards. Was it found out & about, or under a log or rock? If the former, was it a rainy day?
