Well I did a little research and found out that my so called female Giant Day Gecko was a male. I bought him from Petsmart so I don't really blame them for not sexing him correctly but I just goes to show do your research before buying an animal. I have had for 2 years now and had never really wondered about gender because I never intened to breed him until this blue color started popping out.

yea, honestly most pet shops arent too good about knowing how to sex their animals, especially the larger chain pet stores. i have schooled quite a few pet shop employees on sexing geckos. thank god the femoral pores are pretty obvious if you've got large enough of a gecko. ive been looking for a female grandis locally, and one pet shop was trying to sell me a male as a female. i was like "well, im gonna think about this a while." knowing good and well im not buying a 2nd male!
